Wicked sweater - finished!

wickedSweater

I finished this Wicked sweater the day after Thanksgiving. It used just 2 feet shy of 6 balls of superwash yarn from Knitpicks. I made a couple of mods to the patter - I knit a few rows on the sleeves in stockinette stitch, I did a crossover-cable pattern on the bottom of the sweater instead of the suggested seed stitch, and I did a few extra decreases for the waist and some increases for the hip.

I intended the sweater to be a few inches longer. I figured I would have enough yarn to make it longer since I didn't make the pocket called for in the pattern. But it just didn't work out that way. As I neared the end of the sixth ball of yarn, I remember looking and looking and looking for that "extra" ball of yarn that I should've had, because I have never, ever had to use all the yarn called for in a sweater pattern. I looked up my original Knitpicks order to see exactly how many balls of yarn I had ordered, and then counted the (un-woven-in) yarn ends in the sweater... alas, I had used all the yarn :/ Perhaps the pocket wasn't figured into the yarn requirements? Maybe my gauge was off? Who knows. Although the fit is much more snug than the rest of my wardrobe I am really pleased with the end result.
